The Hildersham and Balsham Churches cross country ride is a 15 mile ride through the countryside around the South Cambridgeshire villages of Hildersham and Balsham. The ride is run every year in aid of the parish churches and a nominated charity. The ride is held every year in September.
The route covers water meadows beside the river Granta, long stretches on farm tracks and green lanes, the Fleam Dyke, the Roman Road and Forestry Commission woods. The countryside is slightly hilly and there are panoramic views of South Cambridgeshire and the Fens. There are up to forty optional jumps from 2 feet to 3 feet 6 inches high.
In recent years the ride and has attracted nearly 300 riders making it one of the largest and most enjoyable pleasure rides held in the area and also helping us to generate significant funds for the charities. We would like to thank all those who have attended in the past, hope you have enjoyed yourselves and we hope to see you again this year.
We would also like to that all the helpers who have marshalled for us in the past and ask them to please help again, you are much appreciated by both the committee and the riders.
